O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree…

Here’s our little “Christmas tree”! Isn’t it cute?! We drove all the way to Pennsylvania to cut it down.

Before the tree cutting extravaganza began, May and I went to Mandy’s Saturday morning workout class,  and then we came home and joined our husbands for a delicious cinnamon roll breakfast where we ate back all the calories we just lost… plus a few more. It was worth every bite.

After washing down breakfast with some holiday coffee, we drove to Beck’s Christmas Tree Farm to cut down our trees! None of us had ever cut down a Christmas tree before and so, as you can see, we were pretty excited. Jordan was especially excited about the saw.

We're just missing Jonny!

We wandered around for awhile, looking for the perfect tree…

Jordan and Mandy found their tree first.

Jake and May took a little longer to find theirs…

Davey and I really wanted a tiny Charlie Brown tree, but since every single tree, no matter how big or small, was $40, we found the most perfect {and free} branches. But we had fun picking out what tree we would have gotten if we had our own place… and Davey had fun sawing things.

The first annual Anderson/Minnema Christmas-tree-cutting-down-day was a success and although we got some scrapes and scratches from the sharp pine needles, went home with 2 beautiful trees and lovely bundle of branches.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree, thy leaves are so unchanging. What a great reminder of our unchanging Savior! He is the reason for the season!

  1. How fun!! Love your branches too 🙂 I still can’t believe Jake and Jordan are married! Sounds like you all had a wonderful time together.

And does your blog now have snow flakes falling across it (super cool if so!) or are my eyes just getting worse (and you know about my eyesight!!) !!!???

Can’t wait to see you in a few weeks!!

  2. Hey….Beck’s is where we cut down our tree too! Every year we go the day after Thanksgiving…great place. Jess…they always have the cutest Charlie Brown trees up at their barn too. Enjoy your tree!
